Marzano's 6 StepsStudents learn vocabulary from multiple and various exposures to the word, through direct instruction of the word, and by reading. Teachers are encouraged to have word walls in their classrooms. Refer to Beck's Tier 2 and 3 words and Marzano's 6 steps (click "Learn More") for vocabulary instruction for ideas for words and teaching them.
